Merge Fish is a colorful puzzle game where you place fish onto a small board and try to create matching groups. Fish wait around the sides of the pool, and you choose when to send them onto the playing area.
Your goal is to put fish of the same type close together. When three or more matching fish become connected, they merge and create a new fish with a different color.
Every new fish takes up space on the board. This means you need to think about where you place each one instead of clicking without a plan.
A good position can prepare another match, while a poor choice can make it harder to connect matching fish later.
Merge Three or More Matching Fish
You need at least three matching fish together to create a merge.
After they combine, a higher-level fish appears in their place. You can then try to match that new fish with others of the same level.
This creates a simple pattern. Place fish, make a group, merge them, and then use the new fish to work toward an even higher level.
Try to keep matching fish near each other. Placing the same colors in different corners can make future merges much harder.
Keep Enough Space in the Pool
The puzzle becomes more difficult when the board starts filling up. Empty spaces give you more choices for placing the next fish.
Do not spread different fish across every available spot. Try to create matches before too many spaces become occupied.
Look at the fish waiting around the sides and think about where it will be most useful. Sometimes placing a fish beside two matching ones gives you an instant merge.
Other times you may need to prepare a group over several moves.
Keeping the pool organized gives you a better chance of continuing your run and building higher-level fish.
Reach the Level-7 Fish
The fish keep changing as you create larger merges. There are several levels to work through, with each successful combination moving you closer to the highest fish.
Reaching the level-7 fish gives you an important reward. This fish explodes and clears the pool, opening the board so you have room to continue playing.
This makes higher-level merging especially useful when the puzzle starts becoming crowded.
Merge Fish is an endless, score-based game, so you don’t need to rush through a set of action levels. Plan each placement, keep creating groups of three or more, and try to build the highest fish possible while increasing your score.
How to Play
Use the mouse on a computer.
Click a fish on the side of the pool to send it onto the puzzle board.
On a phone or tablet, tap the fish to place it.
Arrange three or more matching fish next to each other.
Matching fish merge to form a new, higher-level fish.
Keep enough empty spaces available for future moves.
Continue merging fish to increase your score.
Try to reach the level-7 fish, which explodes and clears the pool.
