Things are still messy; different groups fight constantly, and it’s up to you to decide which side to back… or maybe even start your journey.

When starting, you fashion a hero from three types—Warrior, Thief (Rogue), or Magic User (Wizard)—and join one of the strong sides, trying to gain power. As you take on tasks, defeat foes, and help friends, everything in these troubled lands shifts around because of your actions. This version has much more stuff: extra jobs for adventurers, new outfits to gear up your heroes with, tougher bad guy bosses, and stories that go deeper than before.

Doing battle happens right before your eyes—fast real-time action is the name of it, really, but you dodge attacks from enemies, mash buttons to hit them back hard, use spells if you like magic, all over various places, forests, caves full of monsters, strongholds, enemy bases. Finding weapons, gear, and treasure loot is common too, and as each one helps your hero grow and level up, they unlock new powers and skills that give you different ways to fight.
